Mel's voice: Labor Day

A lot has happened since I last wrote. A LOT!!

Let's give a quick rundown.

Thursday afternoon:
Doctor's appt - Scheduled induction for Labor Day
Friday:
Last day of work, 11:30 am started getting contractions
2:00 Non Stress Test at Hospital to check heartrate and contractions
Regular contractions, but not strong enough, sent home to chill until they got unbearable
5:00 Dinner with the 'rents, Stacy and Gabe
7:00 Went home to chill and count contractions
10:00 Ok, contractions, real contractions starting, needing to do the dorky yoga breathing to get through them
Saturday:
12:00 Don't want to be that false labor chick, but realize that the contractions are regular and decide to head to the hospital
12:45 Evaluated at CPMC, 5 cms dilated!! Halfway there!! Checked into the hospital
1:15 Called both sets of grandparents, sister and best friend, thoroughly excited but freaked out
6:00 Still in hospital room, still 5 FREAKING CMS, geez, how long does it take to dilate more, CONTRACTIONS EVIL, BACK LABOR IS THE DEVIL, WANT TO DIE OR KILL SOMEONE OR BOTH
7:00 After a weepy weepy painful hour of backlabor decide that drugs are good, drugs are my friend, MUST MEDICATE
9:00 Fentanyl is good, but Epidural is better, IN HEAVEN, no pain, just numbness and bliss

Couple hours pass with not much progress, lots more pitocin

7:30 pm Still not completely dilated, are you freaking kidding me????
9:45 pm Finally 10 cms, lets get this baby out of here
10:00 pm Start the pushing, kinda weird but just need to get this baby out of me

11:32 pm Finn arrives in this world, smelling like goodness and love and puppy dogs

LIFE DREAM NOW FULFILLED. Emotionally, permanently bonded to this child. Love Slave for my new little son, who is the cutest little bug ever. I will do anything for him.
